95neon_thumper82
ok so I'm kind of planning and researching for future upgrades. I'm looking at a 6kw amp pushing two 15s is what I want. now I'm sure my stock electrical won't be able to keep up with this. so I'm thinking of adding a second stock alternator. I have two open spots in my engine bay... the power steering pump and the ac pump are gone... so room isn't the issue. so I'm wondering for starting out with this would I be better off running two alternators and one yellow top or two batteries and one alternator. the alternator would be the most inexpensive to do... well the purchasing any way. so more alt or more battery which is best? and how would I hook up the second alt. I'd assume splice into the control wires to add a second control set and then run the pos from the new alt to the pos on the stock located alt... right? Growing old is necessary... growing up is an option! DubNDodge
There is no way you are going to run a TRUE 6k watts on 1 or 2 batteries and stock alts. Well you can, but you will be dropping into the 10s '01 Dodge Stratass Sealed Trunk Build Log 2008 Honda Fit Sport Build Log On 10/3/2013 at 10:00 AM, ROLEXrifleman said: Anyone who says they knew everything they wanted out of life at 19 can go suck a bag of dicks cause they are lying to themselves or brought up in a cult. TeamHT
Two stock neon alternators and s yellowtop won't be anywhere what you need for the current draw. If that is your budget, you don't want 6,000 watts. Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

And the big 3 is a must. yup the big three is my next upgrade brfore anything else goes in my car. the HO. alts aren't cheap. I think the neons come with a 120a alt stock so would the addition of another 120 suffice? I don't plan on ever going to anything bigger in this car... because I'll probably sell it with that system in it... so would that suffice? because I can get stock alts for 100 bucks rebuilt. or would the 400 dollar HO be a must? I'm trying to be fruggle and get what I want at the same time ya dig? lol Growing old is necessary... growing up is an option! k3n12ock
1 single big ass alternator and 3 3100s for the rear and biggest you can fit up front. I'd do that over all the options you listed. 05 xB - (2) EVIL 18s - (2) BC3500s - NO WALL Channel 1: http://www.youtube.com/k3n12ock Channel 2: http://www.youtube.com/MrK3n12ock2

TeamHT
Just calculate the current draw and tell me if 200 amps were going to work. If you're going to sell it anyways then just stick with something around 1500-2000 watts. Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
