CarAudioFab
Biggest advantage I see to using resin is to protect the wood from water. If you plan on keeping the box for a LONG time (more than 5 years) or if it is in a vehicle exposed to the elements like a boat or mud bogging vehicle, it is worth it to resin the inside AND outside of the box. Keep in mind that resin is expensive though and there are other ways of sealing the box. In an all out show car build I would resin every square inch of exposed wood, undersides of rings etc. In a daily driver, I really don't think it is worth it. -Mark Host of "CarAudioFabrication" - YouTube Car Audio Tutorial Channel Check out my forum section here on SMD for my builds and tutorial videos! kirill007
i hear it lowers box rise? could be wrong tho It doesn't lower box rise, unless you use quite a few gallons till the internal volume drops. If I fiberglass resin the inside of my box for 2 Sdc 2.5 15s, will it sound cleaner? Louder? I have no idea what the advantages are It won't sound louder, cleaner. Just throwing resin in a box has no advantages, except it will be protected from water better. Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.
