sufficent electrical for MMATS 3000.1?

Recommended Posts

I'm about to put a MMATS 3001.1 in my 2001 eclipse. The manual that came with the amp says run 0ga to the rear and then use 4ga (minimum ) Going into the dual power and ground. I already have 4ga(Rockford Fosgate wire) in my car. I'd like to do another run of 4ga, instead of tearing out the 4ga and replacing it with 0ga. I calked a MMATS dealer and they said 2 runs of 4 ga would be OK. Is that right? It requires 2 100 amp fuses. Can 4 ga wire handle 100 amps? I need advice! Also... I'm doing a big 3 upgrade. I need battery terminals that will allow the (2) 4ga runs AND the connections for the extra wire for the big 3. What kind of terminals can I use?

1 Run from the front battery to the back batteries of 1/0 OFC (at the least)

Both Amplifier power and grounds with 1/0 CCA (at the least)

overkill is better than underkill (FIRES!)

Overkill is your friend, stop looking for sufficient. I know good electrical isn't cheap, but neither is buying another amp.
