Also, when they say 2k they mean the alternator not the engine just to be clear. What is your charging voltage? have you tried turning on your park lights or a/c. Some vehicles with pcm's will charge better with an accessory on.

Charge batteries over night. If you got the funds add another battery and another alt. I wouldn't get a bigger alt if you already got a Mechman 240, just add to it. Maybe put stocker back in and run the Mechman off external regulator separate just for stereo? Also, how many watts you running?

You have the kicker zx 2500.1 thats in your sig?? If so then that electrical should be plenty for that amp. I have a Dc 3.5k @ 0.5ohm and the electrical in my sig and only drop .3 volt full tilt. I had the same problem as your when I first installed my alternator, but the thing I was overlooking was wire runs. I have 4 positive runs just for that power. So if you have access to a DMM measure voltage at the front battery then measure voltage at the amp. That was what I did and it helped me realize that lack or wire runs was my problem. i did have bad voltage drops at the amp but i ran new grounds from both batteries and from amp to frame and that removed the voltage drop from battery to amp. i also added a ground and 0ga power to the alt and that removed the voltage drop from alt ot battery.

i run all that is in my sig (i had 2 more batteries but they were stolen...). i can add a 3rd battery again and see what happens, i never had the system fully runing on 4 batts as crap was stolen and broken not long after install. i still have my stock alt (136A) that i can put back in i suppose. mechman said they would just have me pay the difference up to a larger alt so i might still do that (plus shipping).

what about an external voltage reg? setting it to 14.6V to charge up more as opposed to 13.8?

in addition to the sub amp i also run the eclipse and audiobahn so that adds a good 1500W on top of the 2500 kicker. add on 35A for my head lights, 15A for my deck, 15A for fuel system, 10A for my dash lights and such.

seeing as i dont have any spark plugs and minimal computer power required to make things run i was kinda hoping that id edge out enough from the lower alt.
