Brandonbkd
I'm gonna be building a new box for my BL 18 soon and I really wanna build a 4th so I can have ability to play a wide range of music. Anyone designed a 4th for a BL 18 before or know someone who has? I'm currently running it off a SQ2200 and the max dimensions I can fit are about 20 x 41 x 25 (H x W x D). Do I even have enough room for a 4th? DylanBunch
Maybe if it were a 15 but its about 10cbft gross with those dimensions and you'll need more. I dont think those are good 4th order subs anyways cause fi doesn't even give sealed specs 2006 Ford Explorer 2 Team AA/Sundown 15s 6th order Ct Sounds 7k 4 PRV Mr500 8s Rockford p1000-2 Team Subsonic Lows
Krakin
Unless I messed up somewhere I got a EBP rating of 103.8 which is really far off from being optimal from a 4th order/sealed enclosure. Krakin
Efficiency bandwidth product. A way of determining weather a speaker will be better in a sealed/4th order or a ported/6th order enclosure. An EBP of x<50 is generally more suitable for sealed/4th. While a rating or x>60 is more likely suited for a ported/6th order enclosure. While a rating of 50<x<60 is considered a median between the two. Krakin
So you will be much more benefited from staying with ported enclosures. I should warn you designing and building 6th orders are a very tedious task and require much knowledge on the subject. DylanBunch
I did see a guy on youtube, yesterday actually, with 4 bl 18s in a c pillar 4th order wall. Idk if he still has it or if they sound good in it or not since i heard it off youtube but its been done before. Idk, maybe it'll sound good, guess you could build one and find out? 2006 Ford Explorer 2 Team AA/Sundown 15s 6th order Ct Sounds 7k 4 PRV Mr500 8s Rockford p1000-2 Team Subsonic Lows
Brandonbkd
Yea I was hoping that someone on here would have done one in the past or still has one in a 4th to tell me what to do or what not to do FI BL18 Build Log: CLICK HERE!! 2003 Explorer Sport: FI BL18 SoundQubed 2200 at 0.7ohm Pioneer DEH-2500UI Pioneer 6 x 8s Rockford Fosgate 6 x 9s 5 ft^3 box at 35hz Lots of Mega Mat
