FI BL 18 on a SQ 2200 at 0.7 ohms. Box is in the back of my explorer with the sub up on the passenger side and port back on the driver side. Probably about 10 in from the back hatch.

This is the exact box its in right now

i think you fucked up building the port

Can you elaborate? As in the port design or the actual cutting the wood and putting it together part?

actual cutting and building

No I can guarantee you that's not the case. This is why I posting it on here because I've already ran everything through my head of what it could be and double and triple checked literally EVERYTHING...

I'm almost tempted to just build a box with a tune of like 25 because everything seems to sound like its tuned 10hz higher than what its supposed to be lol

from all the testing I have done Explorers love boxes that are tuned at 38hz. Mine is a 2003 also but it is full size not the sport model. It should still play low just fine

what do you mean my sounds like crap, just not as loud or it doesnt sound like a good bass noise.... i think i might have the same problem cause im tuned at 35 and 37-29 just sounds weird and the sub doesnt move at all... It doesnt start soundiing like bass again till 27-28 which is where the unloading begins so there isnt as much output

It just doesn't sound like good bass. And its doing it exactly between like 35 - 29...seems like we might have an explorer issue here lol

I have the exact same problem... i think its cause i have way too much port area though, im at like 100sq inches. I find it interesting we both have explorers and the same problem. Although i had a Rockford T2 and a Fi btl n2 ( both 15s) and those boxes didnt have the same issue, although they were tuned lower and the boxes were way too big for the subs lol idk dude, maybe i build another box tuned lower

Yea I had a box that was a little over 100 and the one I have now is 86 but it still didn't fix much so I'm kinda at a dead end...
