Sundown 3500 & Crescendo 3500 - oscope test (pg 3 for results)

AMI CUSTOMS

Recommended Posts

Okay now this is just each amp being gain match to their source running thru my TPI 440, so no load connected, so each amp could make more or less then the other depending on electrical and final impedance. So having said that, here is the results AC output with a 40 hz sine wave/tone.

Sundown 3500 v2 - 65 VAC clean, 75 VAC Squarewave

Crescendo 3500 - 65 VAC clean, 70 VAC Squarewave

So they both did same output thru the scope clean, but the sundown had a 5 VAC more output with what I call a "Soft" clip. 65 VAC was MAX output clean off each amp, each was starting to get a clipped signal at 66 VAC.

:)

I really thought the Sundown would make more AC voltage clean, that is what surprised me, but they were exact same.

Sundown 100% won this battle.

Ami hurry up an post

What makes you so sure of that? What's your reasoning?

I really don't know. Being I have 2 Nendo 3500's, I'm In to find out.

Does it fuckin matter? No not really... yes I just used a double negative. Ive had both those amps come threw my truck in past couple years. No I dont have amp dyno but I have dmm an math.

I also know what a Soundqubed 3500 does clean, but those amps do a little more power anyway so not really fair here :)

So, sounds like the sundown is a tad bit better for burps when using soft clip, but for music or daily, crescendo is a better deal price wise. Both are great amps though.

I want to see tests with a load on them, not just open circuit voltage :)
