Wheel Adapter Yay or Nay?

Recommended Posts

I found some rims I really like but they are not the same bolt pattern as mine. I found some adapters that convert my bolt pattern to the wheel that I want.

I really need to know what to watch out for with these on my car.

How do I tell a good one from a bad one?

What geometry do I need to know for proper fitment?

Are these suitable for daily driving?

How much am I looking at spending?

Other things I may be overlooking?

As long as you use billet adapters, you're safe for normal driving(granny driving; won't handle wreckless driving for long). If you're going to be seeing potholes, tight turns, anything that is rougher than smooth driving; you will need steel or iron adapters. Stay away from cast aluminum adapters, we only use them for mockup purposes; we always go and get them copied out of steel when we find the look we want.

Im not sure if its all the same, but, when i brought up running some wheel spacers, every swinging dick told me to look for "hub centric" models.

I may be off base. Sorry if i am. But, just a heads up bro.... good luck.

Hubcentric ks different than a bolt pattern adapter. It scares me to run adapters especially if you cNt get the right offset to mske the wheels sit right

I think I am leaning away from adapters at this point. I just need to save and get some wheels that fit

I hated mine, don't like him. Buy wheels that fit your car. I wasn't happy until I did anyways. Most of the time they stick your wheels out of fender wheels . Then rock hit your paint because of it. For me my wheels never felt balanced . Got wheels that fit and couldn't be happier doing so. But it works out for some. But didn't for me.
