New SkyHigh cable, plus I got rear ended :(

Recommended Posts

So just sitting at a light in the left hand turn lane, minding my own business this afternoon I heard a loud screech. I looked around for that split second and was like," Cool, I'm O....BOOOM"

Next thing I know my neck snaps back and my truck had made 3 ft of forward progress without my input. So a sketchy-as-fuck dude in a new Grand Cherokee hit an '02 Dodge Ram, and the Ram hit me. I have a stepside, which is a polyurethane(plastic) bed. Both bed sides are blown out, my roll pan is rolled under the truck. The tailgate skin and inside is destroyed, plus the handle and bezel exploded. The guy behind me got the worst of it, he was sandwiched between so he has front AND rear damage. It was a beautiful truck(just as mine was) and had never been in an accident until now.

Pics of the mayhem:

I always have a fear of getting rear ended which is why I always find myself looking in my mirrors when I slow down to see if I can prepare for one.

P.S. I'm fine, but the guy behind me, who was a really nice older gentleman, had a hurry back from the impact. We are guessing that the guy in the Jeep hit him at roughly 40 miles per hour. We were both stopped waiting for the light, so we have no idea what he was up to. His story to the cop was flimsy as all Hell. He says he was stopped and someone clipped him a little and he hit the accelerator all of a sudden. Haha, there were 10-12 black rubber marks where he had the brakes locked up. He also changed his shirt before the cop got there. He was wearing some kind of Hydroponic shirt, like for a dispensary or something. The dude also decided that waiting for the cop to get there was a good time to brush his hair with a big paddle brush while standing in the middle of traffic. Dude was sketch... REAL sketch.
