Dead thread now Legitimate question here, would running a 2k watt amp at 1 ohm have the same voltage drop as a bigger amp that puts out 2k at 4 ohms? Let's assume here: 1. Same exact amp for all practical purposes. Not brand A is cheaper than brand B so of course B would be better. 2. They're actually doing 2k each at their respective ohm loads. No specific brands or amps as of right now, more interested in a technical answer at the moment. Didn't really know if this should go in the amp or the electrical section but since I'm not naming brands I've decided to put it here. Any insight is much appreciated as always! Build in progress

I took the magnet and the motor off of one and j b welded it to the other motor and magnet. I had to wind my own voice coil so it would work. After I was done hooked up to 2 boss 5000w amps. And shattered my back and all my side windows came to this thread to recommend soundqubed and ct sounds. OP goes with soundstream. oh lawd.

If amp A is putting out 2K @ 1 ohm and is 72% efficient doing it vs. amp B making 2K @ 4 ohms while being 82% efficient, the amp making its power at the higher efficiency should, in theory as Snow said, have the less voltage drop. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

Only asked because I'm going to play around with a few different setups while I wait to buy a new HO alt that'll charge at idle. So was planning on either doing my BRX2000 @ 1 or my DC 9k @ 4 on stock alt with the XP3000 in there. Not going crazy or anything, but just using them to get some hands-on experience making some different types of enclosures and that fun stuff Build in progress
