k3n12ock Posted September 24, 2013 Report Posted September 24, 2013 That's one long ass run-on sentence you got there. Anyways, getting LOW AND DEEP will depend on your box. As for a H/O alternator, contact Excessive Amperage, Singer, DC Power, Ohio Gen, etc. Do NOT get an ebay alternator! 05 xB - (2) EVIL 18s - (2) BC3500s - NO WALL Channel 1: http://www.youtube.com/k3n12ock Channel 2: http://www.youtube.com/MrK3n12ock2
bbeljefe Posted September 24, 2013 Report Posted September 24, 2013 If your only goal is saving weight, the X isn't gonna be much, if any lighter than the JL. But yes, they will play as low as you let them. Facebook: facebook.com/audioanarchyllc Instagram: audioanarchyllc Youtube: youtube.com/bbeljefe
thomast Posted September 24, 2013 Report Posted September 24, 2013 I'm willing to bet the x's are heavier than the dub 7's
bbeljefe Posted September 24, 2013 Report Posted September 24, 2013 In all likelihood they are. I don't know a weight on the X woofers but my Zv3 15s weigh ~67lbs each and the JLs are 53lb. Since the motors are so similar between the X & Z, I'm betting the 12 weighs 58-60lbs. Facebook: facebook.com/audioanarchyllc Instagram: audioanarchyllc Youtube: youtube.com/bbeljefe
walwalka Posted September 24, 2013 Report Posted September 24, 2013 W7 is 52lbs and the X15 is 48lbs... Either way, the x will play just as low and loud as the w7. However, I don't think it would be worth the trade off in weight. 2010 Honda Civic LX / Deck: Kenwood DDX371 / Front Highs: Crescendo RTS-1 / Front Mids: Silver Flute 6.5's / 4 channel: DC Audio 90.4 / Sub: Fi 15in SP4v2 / Sub amp: Taramps HD 5000 / Power wire: Knukonceptz OFC 1/0 / Deadener: Audio Technix 60 mil / Batteries: XS Power D5100R / Rear bank: TBD / Alternator: Singer 240a hairpin

Krakin Posted September 25, 2013 Report Posted September 25, 2013 You said you have 2 JL 1200.1s. Just run those. Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.
john253a Posted September 25, 2013 Report Posted September 25, 2013 if you want to save on weight ditch the 4x 12 and go 2x 15
