Do tires really add a difference in ride?

Recommended Posts

More rubber = softer ride... Low pro 45's and you feel every bumb in the road, bigger (standard) tire and the rubber/air absorbs the bumps. I think the difference in name/price will show more in handling and wear, but not feel.

I'm running nexen 275/40/17 also have a 3/4 drop and it rides good until the rear end hits the bumper stops but that will be fixed when a 4in c-notch but other then that it rides good

I'm not saying they won't ride good (low pros), just gonna feel more bumps than a standard tire. That's why folks like us slow down for manhole covers and train tracks ;)

shit I don't even with the low and lower kit it still rides smooth until the rear end hits the bump stops

Tires will most certainly influence ride quality... Some ride better than others and different compounds will have different impacts etc...

Honestly tires are not a place to cheap out if you can afford to go with quality set then do it

What's a quality set? I always bought either used or just the oem replacement. But now that I spent 2 racks on rims I want some quality tires.

Yes tires make a huge difference.

When I ran yokahama's because the Nitto's I wanted weren't in stock. Steering and control felt sloppy. Went back to the Nitto's and everything felt tight and in control again.

on my Z, I tried dunlops instead of potenza's and it feels like the car has a lot more under steer.

Just like stereo's, I can't tell you what are tires good. you may like what I call a sloppy ride with too much tire roll.
