Of course sq is subjective, but I have owned multiple DD's and have found other brands to sound MUCH better on music what music do you listen to? and what kinda box did you have them in? and what other subs are you comparing to? just curious. i love the sound of dd, but i will say i might prefer the sound of an SP4 below 27hz. I'm not saying they sounded horrible or anything, but personally I was never "blown away" by they're sound.
