soundsystemaniac Posted October 29, 2013 Author Report Posted October 29, 2013 Thankyou all for the kind words!! We took it out to our local weekly car meets tonight and the people loved it! We received lots of compliments and had some people plugging their ears and making crazy faces when they saw the box. I think its halarious because you cant see too much outside of the truck when you look in at it even with the doors open. You actually have to climb up in the truck, so I have to tell people to not be scared and jump on in. I need to start recording the reaction on peoples faces when they get in the truck just far enough to be able to see the inside of the box. Its sooo funny. Everyone is soo shocked. I enjoy standing outside of the truck to watch the look on everyones faces when they see and hear it for the first time, while Kyle-the owner of the truck demos it. We did have one person ask us how many kickers we have in the truck though. :/ That was a little awakward hah! We played it for him and he said that was the cleanest, loudest thing he had ever heard haha. The alternator should be here in the next few days from Mr. Singer, so then we should really be able to see what this can do! On our way back home from the show, Kyle found a decaf song that had a 24 hz note in it and it played very well! We were very happy with that! We got the alternator from Mike, pulled the factory alt out, only to realize that it was the wrong alt. But not to worry- Mike has some of the best CS in the business! So I messaged him asking if I was crazy and within 8 mins, he repiled back and we got the situation all taken care of! He built us the correct alternator and upgraded it more than the one we paid for initially! He said that when he benched it, It was one of the highest outputs at Idle that he had ever tested! We are very excited about that. 260+ amps at IDLE lol. The alternator tracking says it should be here tomorrow, and we plan to drop it in and see what happens! We had a cold front come through the other night, and this crazy POS factory alt was charging at well over 15 for most of the drive. We went ahead and cranked up the system, and it is VICIOUS lol. The voltage would stay above 14 at full tilt (and I am hoping for it to be that way all the time when we get the Singer alt in!) We have the amp wired at 1.3 ohms now and are considering wiring it down to .3333333 ohms when we get the alt in, because even after 20 mins or so full tilt, the subs still are at a normal operating temperature. We plan to closely monitor voltage and temperature of the amp if we do that! Our electrical is so overkill compared to what we originally planned because we got such a good deal on batteries-and we got a great deal on some Audio Technix 1/0 gauge. we have 3 runs of 1/0 front to back! anyways, here are some updated pictures that we have been taking! went out to a show at palm beach lamborghini, and saw some cool cars! The car on the right is a 1500 AWHP TT Gallardo! To solve the problem of people not realizing what the box is, or that its even a box at all, we added these! I learned these technics from Mark @caraudiofabrication! ^^^those are on both the drivers and passenger side of the truck! We plan to trim out along the sides and front of the top of the box to cover the screw heads that hold down the plexiglass tomorrow with some polished aluminum!
