I have 1 3500 at .5 ohm on my 4 subs my voltage drop to 12.8. My question is would it be better to use my other 3500 and run both of them at 1 ohm? WWhat has more power and needs less electrical 1 3500 at .5 or 2 3500 at 1 ohm each. The reason why im thinking this is that my amp gets really hot after long sessions of music.

Your draw with two will be very similar to your draw at .5 with one id bet. Efficiency really drops when you wire that low.

The higher the ohm load, the more efficient your amp will run.

You will make more power with 2 amps at 1ohm than with 1 amp at 0.5ohm and each will run cooler, send cleaner signal, and run more reliable.

Your total current draw may be a bit more if you are running at full power. But if you lower the settings so that the total power output of 2 amps at 1ohm, matches the power output you were getting with 1 amp at 0.5ohm, your current draw will be less.
