Trayten Posted October 24, 2013 Report Posted October 24, 2013 Ok guys, a very bland question so go ahead and list anything, but I'm wondering, what's next? I've got my head unit, my sub, 2 amps, and box built last weekend. Where should I go from here in terms of buying more stuff for my system? Another battery or new alternator are in the picture, but I don't really know what else I need from here. Me being new at this stuff I always just knew the big picture lol. Fuses and fuse holders (would I need 2 for 2 amps?) 0 gauge ofc? what else is necessary? also, anyone give me an estimate of how many feet i'll need of wire? For 2 amps in a pretty long car, what's a good number of feet to go with? Thank you! john253a Posted October 24, 2013 Report Posted October 24, 2013 No one can answer that The only answer we can give Is use the right fuse to suit the wire size How many runs Alt and other things we can only answer if you tell us what u have

That sounds outrageous.. if you're talking about my car, its a 1988 cadillac. I'm not sure how many runs cause I've never installed subs or amps before so I have no idea. What fuse size would I use for 1/0 gauge ofc? kl0wn Posted October 24, 2013 Report Posted October 24, 2013 Well, the AQ1200's accepts 4 gauge, not 1/0. So if you plan on putting that 1/0 into the amp you will need reducers. Instead of using reducers, you could add a battery to the rear, have a run or 2 of 1/0 from front to back, then the 4 gauge coming off of the rear battery to the amplifiers. Fuses for 1/0 wire are normally 300A ANL Fuses. For 4 Gauge I generally use a 125 or 150A ANL Fuse. 06 Mini Cooper S Sundown, SoundQubed Cadence, XS Power 151s Sealed 155s Outlaw Windshield @ 37hz

Sheesh. Like Klown said.. just an example...for the distro block before the amps. Then you can 4 ga from that. http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KNF-12 you're on the right track. How many feet of 0 ga you need, I don't know. That is a LONG car. You'll want in line fuse for sure also. RCAs? Remote wire? Blown
g2shuck Posted October 24, 2013 Report Posted October 24, 2013 Do a run of sky high 1/0 from front battery back to the amps then use a toolmaker 1/0 to dual 4 gauge block to power the amps. Put a 300 amp fuse on the 1/0 cable at the positive battery post to fuse the 1/0 wire then put a 125 amp fuse on each 4 gauge wire at the outputs of the distribution block to fuse the 4 gauge wires. You do not need to worry about amp fusing since the aq1200s have built in fuses. 2000 Toyota Camry With Sealed Off Trunk Sky High OFC Wiring DC Power 270 XP Alt AQ 2200 Sub Amp Two DC Level 4 m2 12s 80 Mil Murdetmat Gathering Parts For Wall Build.
