Well Saturday came and i went to work O.T., i got home by 4 and started setting up for paint. Low and behold it started getting very cloudy very quickly and the daylight was running out. so i moved quicker and sprayed the base coat on the speaker pod section and tweeter pod and sprayed some purple pearl on the CF ring. by the time i went to shoot clear, the sun has gone down and it started raining so sprayed 2 very wet coats and took it inside the house, result - runs on the clear and big water drops on the surface which creates craters and waves. Now i will have to let it cure for a couple of days and try to bring down the runs and craters without cutting into the paint.

Lesson to be learned? - Never rush your work. if you don't have enough time, wait till a day that you do. if it looks like it's gonna rain, don't work on you projects. At the end it will create more work for you to fix.

ooooooohhhhhh myyyyyyyyyy. that paint is turning out niceeeee!!!! :good:

Seriously though... more people dive into the build log section looking for ideas than those who venture into the fabrication part. This would definitely qualify as a build log.

Is it even posible to switch this to the build log?

No, not without administrative privileges at least... You'd have to start a new thread. Or just start a new thread with some of the better pics, and include a link to this thread.

But IMO I think you should do a build log of your whole car using more general and better pics, and then you can keep this one a more detailed, instructional type thing. That way you don't have to go crazy in both logs, but still have more people see it. Your work definitely deserves to be viewed and shared.

Btw I like your homemade paint booth. Clever!

Yeah, a 10 x 10 pop-up canopy with side enclosures and a blue tarp on the floor (all available at walmart). Beats renting an actual paint booth every time i need to paint.
