Repairing my amp

My Hifonics Brutus BRZ1700.1 has recently become damaged and now only produces relatively clean signals at low volumes. I've determined it is in fact coming from the amp and not the headunit or equalizer. So how hard would it be to open this thing up and determine what has gone bad and then replace it? Would it just be a simple solder job or much more involved?

When it comes to repairing an amp its better off to let a professional do it. Especially if you have to ask how to do it. But seeing as how the amp only costs $200 you'll probably pay half of that if not more to have it repaired. My advice is to sell it as is and try and get some money out of it and then put that towards a new amp. But thats just how I would do it. Im sure there are some people on here who can tell you exactly how to diagnose and repair it, so it's up to you.

I agree. That amp costs like 200 giver or take and to repair would be at least half that if not the cost of a new replacement amp. Save yourself the money and just buy a new one. Possibly try another brand

I would not repair it. Anything under $200.00 non repairable in my book. over $100.00 probably to repair.

I dont know if they are still doing it or not but I remember a while ago Skar Audio was doing a "turn in your amp for money off a new amp" kinda thing. Not sure if it included blown amps but it might be worth a try to see if they'd take it.
