Impalalpine Posted November 6, 2013 Report Posted November 6, 2013 All my wire is Knuconceps. 0 gauge, 4 gauge, RCA's, the lot. recently my 4 gauge run seeming lost its ability to transfer current. One day the amp worked fine, the next there was no turn on, no led and the voltmeter showed that the 4 gauge ground was fine but that the positive from the battery was not reading. the run of 0 gauge is fine (ran the same way in roughly the same spot. I thought my amp had fried at first. The fuse does not look blown to me, though it is the cheapest little fuse holder knuconcepz makes and its honestly a little hard to tell. Im not even sure you can replace the kind of fuse thats inside the fuse holder as it does not come apart and it is a little lightningbolt shaped fuse that i have never seen before I believe it is an 80 amp fuse and the amp wants 100 amp. So is my wire shorting out somewhere along the run into the chassis? what is going on? bbeljefe Posted November 6, 2013 Report Posted November 6, 2013 Never, ever, ever check a fuse visually and think you've checked it. Fuses sometimes look blown but often, they're blown and you cannot see that they're blown. Always check the fuse with a meter, a continuity tester or a test light.
