SICKSPD
well the only thing is the battery is in the trunk so its like 3 feet of power wire from battery to amp. Well then seems like one of the gauges is incorrect. Id be willing to assume Dodge's voltage meter to be correct 09 Challenger R/T (Audio system under construction): Pioneer AVH-X4500BT (PAC RP4CH11 harness) (2) Sundown Audio SA-8v2 (inverted) CT Sounds AT1400.1D XS Power D3400 40 sq ft. Bodied B2600ZX
Do you have a meter? Check the voltage at the battery. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Jus know it's a few fractions of a volt low 2 - Sundown SA 8V2 | CT Sounds 1400.1 | Pioneer DEH-X8500BS | 4/0 Big

Jus know it's a few fractions of a volt low yeah I'm just too lazy to get the DMM out haha. SICKSPD
So i got out there with a DMM and took a few pics. Now its worth noting that this DMM isn't anything expensive so i don't know how accurate the reading might actually be.. but what i found was a tad surprising... I took a resting voltage reading with the car completely off Then i put the car in accessory mode (the car is still not running). This is the reading inside. you can see both the gauge reading and the CT sounds reading Then i took a reading at the amp in accessory mode… theres no difference in voltage between here and the battery Then i started the car… this kinda surprised me, according to the DMM it sits higher than both the inside readings, between 14.9 and 15.0v and finally the reading inside while the cars running Im currently building a new box as we speak so ill have more pics of that later 09 Challenger R/T (Audio system under construction): Pioneer AVH-X4500BT (PAC RP4CH11 harness) (2) Sundown Audio SA-8v2 (inverted) CT Sounds AT1400.1D XS Power D3400 40 sq ft. Dwn4BassAlan
are you saying you're surprised the voltage is higher with the car on? Or just higher than the inside readings with the car on? My response of well we don't really use your vagina so should we throw that out was evidently not the right response. I had to leave the room. I missed Alan. RIP 5/29/15 - I love you son. oldsoundguy
I wonder we're the bass knob takes its reading from? And does it loose voltage running the bass knob off the amp? Kinda looks that way. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/
bbeljefe
The knob reads voltage at the power supply and no, it doesn't lose voltage it just isn't terribly accurate. SICKSPD
Im wondering the accuracy of my DMM though. Ill probably invest in a nicer one, but can DMM's be off by a lot? 09 Challenger R/T (Audio system under construction): Pioneer AVH-X4500BT (PAC RP4CH11 harness) (2) Sundown Audio SA-8v2 (inverted) CT Sounds AT1400.1D XS Power D3400 40 sq ft.
