OK ... Cool !!! Thanks guys !!! Looks like we have the Term Lab covered !!!

Now maybe we can try and figure out what MECA SPL class to run in ... If I need to post any more pics (for vehicle modifications), I will ... just ask

Indeed you will be in mod. I assume those LP amps are a/b? This may hurt you on fusing but you can probably still get into mod1 of you can hold a fuse

Most likely this will be set up with a pair of 15s ...

Yes, the amplifiers are Class A/B ... One amplifier for each driver 4 ohms mono.

Then again ... I may run a single Linear Power LP2400 if it is avaliable be then ... 8 ohms mono.

So can you guys sort of explain this fusing thing to me ... I know each amplifier has internal fusing (three 20 amp fuses) ...

(not sure about the new LP2400) ...

each class has a number associated with it. for this example I will use Street 1 as it is the one I am most familiar with

the number is 550

this is the maximum cone area + 10xfuse

so say you have 1 12" sub this is about 113 sq inches of cone

so 550 - 113 = 437

437/10 = 43.7

43.7 is your maximum fuse rating but since you are allowed only one fuse in street 1 you have to run a 40 amp fuse or less

external fuses are mandatory don't worry about on board fusing

one thing you really need to check on is the iso mounting of your subs. they may count as 4 drivers instead of two

either way worst case scenario

Mod1 = 1000

10" subs = 78.5

78.5 x 4 =314

1000 - 314 = 686

so 68.6 amps of fusing

I am not sure but I think mod1 can run two fuses (check the rules on that) in which case you can run 2 30s or do like the pros do a 60 amp and a 5 amp

I will be running a completely different setup than what I have installed now if I decide to do this ...

My Iso-Kits will be used elsewhere ...

If I can get my hands on the enclosure I'm looking at ... I would be running a pair of 15s

Your best bet with 15s is mod3 top scores are around 153 to 154 if you could drop fuses to mod2 and still do a 150 you will be very competive in spl to but if you are looking for bobos mod3 you need to do park and pound for bobos as well tho and that's 30 seconds ave on music full tilt meter 6 feet from the car

Have you ever had your woofers blown?

the mic sits on the seat, elevated on a stand, a few feet from the windshield. you usually want to hold a tone for about 4 seconds just because the score could go up a tenth or two. maybe that's not a concern for you.

Ok ... Makes sence. I'm going to assume that the mic takes the place of the driver's head (ears) ...

... and what do you mean when you say this ???

the mic placement likes lower frequencies.

If I can get the enclosure that I have in mind (already built in another truck) ... I think it is tuned aroung 40 htz (I really need to verify this ASAP)

I will be able to give more details on this (and the drivers) if I can get my hands on this enclosure to put in my truck ... Not sure at this time if it is even possible to get this ... But would be nice, It is a well built enclosure !!!

But it's things like this I need to know if I need to actually build an enclosure because I kind of want the highest frequiency possible cause lower frequiencies tend to "destroy" interiors ... Trust me, I know from personal experience ...

Now I can say this about the Blow Through setup ... I will be fixed below the windowline to where I can completly cap it off for Sound Quality competition ... Don't want the SPL drivers making any unwanted frequiencies during testing / judging ...

1000w at 35hz isn't going to destroy anything man. trust me, i know from experience lol.

If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.

Thank you Sir ... This sound about like my game plan

Yea, low 150s is all I'm looking for, just want to stay in a low enough class so I won't get ma but kicked by a raw SPL vehicle and my does Sound Quality also ...

but if you are looking for bobos mod3 you need to do park and pound for bobos as well tho and that's 30 seconds ave on music full tilt meter 6 feet from the car

I do not have or will have enough battery power for this ... nor do I want to put my truck through that kind of punishment ...

I'm thinking just a burp should bump me up ...

I am a retired meca spl judge you can pm e questions any time..... I also did meca sq judging

Thank you Sir ...
