Not enough alt, battery, or both bad?

Recommended Posts

I still don't think he should have that much drop. I have a 120a alt a d3100 and d925. I drop to 13.1 on a 90 degree day. With a 2200 and 90.4. How do your grounds look OP?

What size wire to rear. CCA or OFC? Your alternator is stock it needs upgraded. How long do you run it at full tilt? pictures of grounds? Did you remove any wires off the alternator (stock)?

1/0 to the rear. I know I need to upgrade the alt. it will happen one day lol. I did not rove any wires during big 3.

What do you mean used to? Did you change anything?

It seems to have happened more after I upgraded my boston amp. It just doesn't seem that running it stereo at 1.5 ohms like the last one I had would be that hard of a drop. By used to I mean within the last 6-8 months and it's been steady since then.

If I add another hc2400 and a 270a mechman would that be sufficient to run as a daily if I upgrade to an sq 3500.1?

That should do it.

Check your Kinetik battery to make sure it is holding a charge.

There also was no change in a bad way after I did big 3. Actually gained about a volt.

Stock alt is PCM regulated. Shuts off when it senses batteries are charged and also when temperature gets too high.

Mechman told me that an external regulator would keep my battery light on but I'd like to have one... And not have my battery light on.
