Nice. I would of kept the re xxx and ran the active if they were 4 ohm speakers. But being 2 ohm I could only wire the two speakers to 1 ohm or 4 ohms. My amp isn't 1 ohm stable so that was out and IMO wiring them to 4 ohms which is only 120 W rms with my amp that's only 60 W each which isn't enough power for these speakers. I think your right about the crossovers and the tweeters. My soundqubed tweets sound so much better. The 6.5 pro audio doesn't have the same mid bass as the REs did. IMO if RE audio sold that same 6.5 in a 4 ohm 150W speaker I would be buying it quick.

Very true!! The 2 ohm thing does complicate things... But I bet if they were 4 ohm they wouldn't be rated as high or have the midbass output that they do... Always a trade off in the car audio world lol.'

but as of right now I'm planning a secondary amp for tweets/highs. (Going to play with it on the amp I have now, and that will impact my decision on what I do and what amp(s) I go with.. )

Not really concerned with having all same brands (or top of the line, popular equipment). I've decided I'm going to be a numbers and "Spec hugger" rather than be concerned with brand or name recognition. (I plan on covering most of the equipment up anyway)

You guys crack me up with your 2 ohm dilema... Its hard to find 2ohm drivers. Hell the CDTs i good where dual 4 to wire down to 2 so i can put 150 watts to it. You guys just need another amp to push more 2 ohm speakers. Use the pass thru to run another amp and same crossover points. I have 3 RF amps for mids and highs active. Just have to think out side the box. I would have loved to had those XXX midbass drivers just for that!

I reallt dont have room for another amp. I am in a small truck with a big ass box in the back. Lol

Although the re audio had great mid bass it did get canceled out by the sub stage. IMO the re xxx would be perfect for somone who doesnt want to run a sub but still likes a little bass. I though they sounded awesome when I had a sub amp problem and just had the res to listen to.

I agree with that 100%. (Or even with a smaller sub setup)

But for any significant substage, the XXXs glory is almost cancelled out. I've noticed that even in my setup and i only have the 1 12 on 750 watts.

Right on guys... i guess i am more of an SQ guy than i though. I cant turn my sub up to the point that they overpower my whole system.... But i dont... I can when i want to demo but normally subs are turned down to hear and experience ever speaker in my system. It is why i put them all in. But thats me, i Just think those Re XXX would make great midbass speakers in the right aplication. If pro audio works for you guys that cool. We all love the music and system!

My sub is turned down most of the time also. I just blend it into the music. Some songs are on full bass some are half etc. Just depends on the mood and music.
