so lets say I get 2 RE Audio CTX-4200.1

that will give me the 1000 to each of my subs I need. you think that's an ok amp though?

if you got two of those you would have a total of 2k rms and last time i checked 2000/4 is 500

edit: unless you are running it on only the two subs, then yes 1k a piece.

edit: never ran that amp before couldnt tell ya

EDIT AGAIN: if you run each sub on there own amp, they will be wired at 1 ohm to each amp.

so, one amp will push 1500 rms to one sub at 1 ohm

Running separate amps you will need something like a CC-1 to gain match. Don't *NEED* to i guess but 99.9% of people will definitely recommend it.....

hmmm well overall im just looking to get 2000 rms for now out of 2 amps or 1. nothing nuts. just looking around till spring or boxing day I guess. im taking my time on this one to the fact its something most people should think about when they want a good boom :). I seen some awesome amps from many people on here telling me sites. I got to say the sundown, Rockford, and RE audio kicker, and alpine amps I seen. looks to be a hard pick for me but still looking into them.

Ill agree with the sundown and Rockford, some kicker but not a big fan of re or kicker though. Owned both. Best way to go on this is to figure out what you want at the end of the day. Sub size, power you want to run, how much room you have. once you get all that then figure out what kind of electrical you need. Get the electrical first. I say again get the electrical first. Unless you just want a 500 watt amp or so you need to make sure your electrical can give the amps the power they need. This means and upgraded battery for the front and a HO alternator at the very least. Depending on how much power your amps need you may need more than one alternator and more batteries in the back. At least more batteries. If you go out and get a couple amps and some nice subs and try to run that off of stock electrical you will be on your way to the store again to spend more money for new equipment. Yes it sucks. I have learned this from many years (I'm 37), electrical first then start getting the power in there. But think of what you want at the end of the day. Many will help you out but it seems like you don't have your mind set yet. goes one way then another. Just my thought though. I may be wrong. Good luck in this mess you have going on there lol (joke of course)

Look at my build. nothing special. This build though has been getting put together for over six months. My focal speakers I have had a few years but I wouldn't even put them in until my electrical was good. Sometimes this takes time. Just don't be in a rush. You'll kick yourself in the rear for it later. Trust me.
