Karkov
To be honest man, Most people seem to hate the sanding over and over part but I am with you on this one, turn on the music, have a beer, and sit and do it. BUT 99.9% of the time I am in a damn hurry and the waiting for shit to dry and then knowing I have to sand more times drives me nuts because I just want it done, OR when you have a sander and are doing huge knock down on a wall or something. But with what you're talking about, I don't mind either man. Also, looking good man, always following this, I like how you keep trying things, different gear, different settings, etc.etc. I mainly do this hobby for the time investment into always changing and playing around, not just to set it up, forget it, and listen to music etc. 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. oldsoundguy
Thanks for the info 2000TACO ^^^^ Well I sanded and put the last coat of primer on. So the only thing to do was start painting. I got about 3 coats on each. I will let the paint cure for 24 hours then I will put the finishing 3 coats each on. This paint is a little tricky. You need to hold the can at least 12" or more away from what you are painting. It comes out with strong pressure and needs to be held away for the texture to spread. I learned that when I did my box. I wasted at least 4 cans of paint by trying to lay down heavy coats after the first couple dust coats. So hold it back and do multi thin layers to get a good even coat. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/
oldsoundguy
Finish coat is done. Paint is curing. I will let them sit for at least a week or two before the door panels will be ready for them. Next step is vinyl shopping. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/
oldsoundguy
Just got back from Longbeach wa visiting with family. The paint was cured well enough to put on some coats of clear. I did 5 light coats holding the clear about 12" from the speaker rings. I think it came out just about perfect. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/

oldsoundguy
Checked in on the speaker rings and they came out real nice. Now I am just going through a vinyl color decision. I am thinking black now. I also want to do my headliner in black so maybe that will be my choice. I just need to see if I can find 4 way stretch vinyl locally and if not then I will have to order online. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/
