what amps to use with 3 way comps?

if I have 2 sets of these and 2 12s I know I need let's say a 2000.1 but how would I amplify the entire set? I'm pretty sure the tweeters and midbass are not rated like the 6.5" woofer is.. would I need 3 pre outs or just an additional amp?

Bass amps are different than miss and high amps, so get a two channel amp, also the whole component set hooks up to the crossover through speaker wire that goes to the amp

Wtf are you serious..what is running active compared to passive? I'm so confused now also I only need one more amp because of the crossover I know the difference between mono and ab amps I'm not stuck in the question of can I run active I have heard it sounds better

Going active can work and it does create some flexibility (x-over points and slopes) but at added cost. You would need six channels of amplification for the the 2 three way comp sets. That would be assuming that you run the speakers in series or parallel depending on the ohm load. That would be a pain in the ass for ya. You wouldn't know the individual resistance for each speaker or its power handling. The easiest way to do it would be to get a badass 4 channel amp that has ~100 -150 watts per channel and run the speakers through the four supplied passive crossovers. Passive gets a bad rap for the most part and it shouldn't. The x-overs that came with those focals is designed to work with those speakers. It should sound great given a proper install.

OP, you said you had 2 sets correct, meaing you'll have 4 total crossovers to feed correct?

If so the answer is simple, get a good quality 4 channel amp that is RMS 75 - 100 per channel and feed the crossover. Let it do its job and direct the frequencies to the speakers. As long as you stay within the rated power (80 rms) and make sure it's clean you should be good to go. If you end up with an amp with onboard x-over capability and you wanna play it "safe" you can high pass it between 80 and 100 hz as well though many will disagree with "doubling up" on the x-over
