1dirtylowhoe Posted December 26, 2013 Report Posted December 26, 2013 Would i shooting my self in the foot if im running 1/0 to my dist. Block in the rear. And from that run 4awg to the amps which are 4ft away or should i keep with the 1/0 in and out to the amps. (Mmats 1600.1) are my two sub amps thanks
SterTheDer Posted December 26, 2013 Report Posted December 26, 2013 1/0 will carry more current than 4awg, but running 4awg that short distance should be just fine If you can run 1/0 to them then you should, but 4awg wont hurt.

1dirtylowhoe Posted December 26, 2013 Author Report Posted December 26, 2013 If i was going to continue to use the 1/0 i was going to have to buy some reducers
Karkov Posted December 26, 2013 Report Posted December 26, 2013 if the amp input is 4 AWG then that short run of 4 AWG should be fine. Always give amps the wire they require (or bigger) for their inputs. RooTxBeeR Posted December 26, 2013 Report Posted December 26, 2013 Hmm, I think you might be pushing a single run of 1/0 to its limits running that. What fuse do you have on your 1/0? CJ18 Posted December 26, 2013 Report Posted December 26, 2013 If you are using 1/0 into the distro block, then you could use 1/0 out of the block and into your amp and use a 1/0 to 4ga reducer.
1dirtylowhoe Posted December 26, 2013 Author Report Posted December 26, 2013 The plan is, run one strand from my 2nd alt back to my batcap powerpack in the rear, then from it back to the secondary battery in the front and back to the distrobution block in the rear
