alaskanzx5
the mdf idea is like what I was saying with a bigger pvc pipe but is suggested using the pvc since you don't have a router. could maybe put expanding foam between the pvc and port to stiffen it up some. prevent some port flex. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz. hdorre
The slower the bend turns the lesser loses you will experience so try to find a fitting that doesn't turn sharply if possible and it will work better. I was hoping you'd see this. Thank god! So two 22.5 degree bends are better than a single 45 degree bend, right? I guess that if you are willing to assemble together 4 of those you could achieve a slow 90 deg turn, yes, but it would maybe be a lot of work, there should be slower turning 90 deg turns or a dual 45 deg set, just go and see what you can find that will actually work on your space. All I really need is a 45degree turn. I don't need 90degrees (my port isn't that long), and wouldn't that be "worse?" Im going to Home Depot tomorrow. poorfish88
HunterJohnson makes MDF rings if that's the route you want to go. The angle of the bends wouldn't be a bad thing either, up to 90° bends area perfectly fine. Any more bend than that and I think efficiency could start coming into play(lack of efficiency) Wouldn't the same hold true for slot ported boxes (Bends more than 90 degrees) I'm not trying to derail the thread or argue, I honestly don't no the answer. hdorre
So I looked by the toilets in Home Depot and decided on a single 45 degree bend. Is there any rule of thumb on where the bend should(nt) be? alaskanzx5
don't think it will make a difference. I mean you are flaring both sides right? so it not like you would have a choice of putting it at either end, kind of stuck with it in the middle. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz. Joe X
Since the inner end flare will be angled check that it won't be touching anything.
