singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.

If you are running the sdc 2.5's they can take about 1k each daily if you know what your doing so Imo just getting the 2200 would be the better/cheaper option. If you just switch subs from 2 12's to 1 18 there is a chance it would be louder but its not known for sure due to so many variables that must be factored in.

If you do go with a hdc 3 18 you can not do a 4th order you need to do a 6th order. Soundqubed subs are not meant to be in a sealed box and will ware out the suspension really fast in a 4th (all from soundqubed)

Yea we will see how the output changes with the 2200 and go from there. I would more than likely save and get 2 18's instead of just one so I don't keep throwing money away into building enclosures.

Electrical upgrades before the AQ2200 I'd say. better sell the little guys than pop them, but in the end cone area is king, 2 15" would fit best if going for a 18" go for a cool one, 2 12s and one 18 have rather similar cone area.

x2 on the electrical.

Thanks alaskanzx5 I might just do that
I can recone a sub myself. About a year ago I took 2 12" power acoustic mofos and made one sub. I took the magnet and the motor off of one and j b welded it to the other motor and magnet. I had to wind my own voice coil so it would work. After I was done hooked up to 2 boss 5000w amps. And shattered my back and all my side windows

came to this thread to recommend soundqubed and ct sounds. OP goes with soundstream.

oh lawd.

yeah, 2 12s is roughly 224" and 1 18 is roughly 254", its such a small difference that a difference in output would be hard to notice unless in a real nice box imo.

THE EBP tells me, at 62, that the 18" HDC3 CAN be run in a bandpass 4th order. The suspension is stiff, but a properly designed box CAN make them perform perfectly fine in a 4th order bandpass enclosure.

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

Im just staying what soundqubed told me when i questined them about a 4th order. You can but the sub will not last as long as it should.
