Krakin Posted December 28, 2013 Report Posted December 28, 2013 The 15" HDC3 needs 130 +10% square inches of port area, along with a good flare on both the inside and outside openings of the port. That is about how close you can get using math without testing enclosures. I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.
alaskanzx5 Posted December 28, 2013 Report Posted December 28, 2013 on their website im not seeing a suggested port/port volume, not even a suggested box. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
alaskanzx5 Posted December 28, 2013 Report Posted December 28, 2013 I only see a chart listing 2 15s needing 9cuft and 144" of port area 18" long. that would give you a tuning around 38hz from my rough estimate. they don't list anything specifically for those subs though. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.

Joe X Posted December 28, 2013 Report Posted December 28, 2013 That is what the manufacturer says about those subs go to soundqubed I have two HDC3 18s. You got it wrong, they go by the rule of 16 square inches per cube of net volume, 16 raw square inches would be about nice on a single 10" subwoofer.

They follow the port per cube philosophy, but the amount of port area you need for a driver does not change depending on box volume. Whether you have 3 cubes or 6 cubes will still need X port area, using the same driver for both enclosures. alaskanzx5 Posted December 28, 2013 Report Posted December 28, 2013 their tech support only has a chart stating size and recommended box specs not specific speaker and box specs. from what I read they all have the same motor force and xmax but that doesn't include the other specs of the woofer. op, just get ahold of soundqubed and ask them what they recommend for you speakers. then design a box post it in the enclosure section asking for opinions and see if anyone has advice on changes you could do from their personal exp. with those speakers. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
