single xs d3100?

Recommended Posts

just looking for opinions here.

for electrical I will have for sure

250 amp singer alt

external voltage regulator, adjustable

min of 2 runs of 0 gauge

big 3, alt ground to frame

to power

2 t1500.1bdcp amps at 2ohms each

2 t400.4 front channel on one at 8ohms, rear channel on it at 4ohms, front channel on the second 400.4 power either a t3 or t2 comp set not sure yet

not sure of actual power draw but daily im assuming will be around 200amps with a max of 400amps

do you think a single xs power d3100 will keep me above 13volts? I know with out testing know one can say for sure just wondering what everyone's opinion is on this. trying to keep my battery spending limit below $500 when it comes time for me to get them.

singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.

If you expect constant power I'd say you could stay near 13 volts, but daily factors will come into play. I would be comfortable with a single D3100 but you want know until you install it.

Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

There actually is a math equiation you can use to figure out your battery needs. 1 second.

once I am able to actualy stat this build im gonna see if I can find a member near me before buying batteries that has a d3100 I could put in and see how it handles a full tilt run at idle and at 2krpms roughly.

daily I most likely wont turn it up more then 45-55 out of 62 (dd-1 good up to 62 thank you 80prs), wont be using any bass boost or anything of the sort. im sure for a 30 sec run iasca style with letting it charge between runs would be fine imo.

so with the info from that video, a single xs d3100 and the 250 amp alt it would be a close call on if it would or wouldn't hold at or above 13v.

If we use the equation a single D3100 won't cut it. But we all know an equation won't always equal actual daily application.

yeah, i doubt a t1500.1bdcp will pull much more then 50-75amps on music not going full tilt. i would be suprised to see more then a 200amp draw total from both of them at roughly 3/4 volume on music. i was using a 150 amp fuse for the t1500.1bdcp at the time and the manual suggests a 200 amp fuse but i never blew a fuse so i know i wasn't pulling 150 amps.

i know for sure i had a single t1500.1bdcp at 1ohm with 2 stock batteries big 3 no alt ground, 1 run of 1/0 gauge with the 250 amp alt but pcm controlled and my grounds where kinda shitty (seat bolts sanded down) full tilt i wouldn't see anything below 13volts at an idle don't remember what it was at 2krpms. the alt over heated for some odd reason a few days later and singer has rebuilt it and set it up for an external regulator since then.

i most likely could have gain a decent amount with better amp and rear battery grounds along with an alt ground and with the amp not having issues and not being pcm controlled with a second run of 0 gauge. hell could have been as much as a full volt more.

I can't estimate how much you'll drop, but I'll just put this here:

I have a Singer 230A alt and 2 75aH batteries. I did the big 3 and had one 1/0 pos and neg run from front to back with another chassis ground in the back. My T15001bdcp was wired at 2 ohms too and tuned with the -5dB 40hz tone.

Full tilt, driving around I usually dropped .3 -.4 volt. The most drop I've seen was .6, and thats only on two particular songs that I've found.

Take that for what it is...

^^^ that being impressive, what did your car charge at? 14.2-14.4 volts? a .6 drop would only drop you down to roughly 13.6-13.8 volts.
