hdorre
Exactly.. I care about my system too much to let that happen. alaskanzx5
ok, if my math is right (following the videos directions) music being dynamic i know it wont pull as much constantly or often at that and only with in a small freq range will it be putting out rated rms so required amperage on daily music should be lower. that accompanied with the fact that is at full tilt and i wont be going more then roughly 3/4 volume im thinking a 10-20% less power draw then the math from the video shows. all math was done wanting to stay at a min of 13v 2 t1500.1bdcp at 2ohm 311 amps 2 channels of the 2 t400.4 running at 8oms 20 amps 2 channels of the 2 t400.4 running at 4ohms 88 amps car takes roughly 66amps from my finding. so a total of 505 amps of draw. 250 amp alt charging at 14.4-14.8 ( adjustable regulator, i will be changing it at comps up to 14.8 and for daily 14.4) 110 amp from d3100 total supply 360 amps so i would be 145 amps short. so with only playing 3/4 volume and on music commuting back and forth to work. i dont know what actual real world power draw will be on music daily at 3/4 volume will be but this is just a a guess. 10% less power draw puts it at 455 amps, 95 amps short 20% less power draw puts it at 404 amps, 64 amps short 30% less power draw puts it at 353 amps ( figured i would hope for the best/pipe dream lol) extra 7amps now since im aiming to stay above 13v on music daily while driving to and from work mainly (any other time i have the wife and kids so i wont be turning it up much) im thinking that it should be safe to say planning on using 1 d3100 under the hood and the 250 amp alt will be reasonable. not saying i will only be using just the 1 battery long term just as a start until after the whole build is together and i run it for a little while seeing how the voltage holds up daily on music and at comps then find a way to fit extra battery(s) ill add more just trying to figure out my starting point for batteries. with trying to keep batteries under $500 i think a d3100 ($370 on sonics) that will leave me with 230 for another small battery or 2 to either fit behind the set ( small space so i would need a small battery or 2) or in my spare tire location (only about 5.5" height). once everything is put together i could actually see what space i have to work with for more batteries. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz. SlamminBeats
i had a kinetik 1800 600 and stock group 48 batt on 1 t1500cp and dropped down to the 11s still with ofc 0 gauge wire all around and big3 0 gauge ofc all cars are different. I think kinetik sucks though the d3100 may be able to do it
alaskanzx5
single t1500.1bdcp and single t400.4 on stock alt (110amps) and batt no big 3 with a 10 farad rockford cap didnt drop below 11volts with 1 run 1/0 gauge in this car. ground for the cap was to a stock ground bolt for the rear lights/brake lights. that was full tilt at the 11 volts i would have needed 184amps to put out 1500rms from the amp plus the 66 amps the car needs. i doubt it was pulling more then 100amps in all reality on music. 100amps per 1500.1 so 200 amps plus 88 for 2 channels of the 2 t400.4 and 22 for the other 2 channels puts it at 300amps plus the 66 from the car is 366 amps. ill have 360 so 6 amps short. that is my hopeful thinking lmao.. im gonna go ahead and plan for a single d3100, i think with grounds to the frame big 3 plus an alt ground and the 250amp alt charging at 14.4v i should be good. a 1.2volt drop would only put me at 13.2 volts. i could live with that until i figure out a way to fit another $230 worth of battery behind the rear seat. gotta keep it all behind the rear seat to stay in the lowest class possible. figure i wont be that competitive in a higher class. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
