Wire each woofer in series, then wire the pair in parallel.

Like this.

i guess my confusion is and a dumb one is the second sub doesnt have to be actually hooked up directly from the amp?so i will have one terminal on the back of the box with nothing in it??

Let's see if I can make it easier.

You wire each sub to 4ohm and then wire them together for 2ohm load to the amp.

wouldnt it work if i just did like i sketched though also?

Yes, from the box at 4ohm that would be the wiring. Remember to use the diagram in the post

Glad to hear it is starting to make sense. Mono blocks like you have can be confusing. It appears that you have 2 channels, but internally the 2 separate connections are actually connected together(daisy chained), so it simulates you connecting the terminals on the box together. You are inputing the 2 individual subs wired at 4 ohms and internally the amp will combine them making 2 ohms.

so if i have them both wired to the amp at 4 ohm and connect the wire to the terminals on the box like in my sketch it will drop to 2ohms??

You are correct. Wiring the subs to 4 ohms and connecting them to the amp like in your diagram it will drop your final impedance to 2 ohms.

ok thanks :)
