Not gonna lie, I felt nervous at first not knowing what electrical I would need just to run 2k. Once you build an intermediate build (1k-3k) then you will get more of an understanding on things. Plus I would rather blow a 1k-3k amp vs blowing up a DC7.5k if I were to make a mistake with something.

In the end it's your choice. But many people on here would advise to do a smaller build first.

Thanks for all the advice, the only reason i wanted to run 16v was to just use a cheaper amp... i see that is the wrong thing to do haha... thanks for all the advice, ill just stick to 12v and read more...ALOT more

edit: manual says 16v maximum operating voltage.

Were you the guy looking for someone to help install and teach you a little with the plans for 2 xls and a 5k?

I'm just curious why the sudden jump to bigger plans with 16v and a 7.5k when in the other thread you said you were just learning.

Might as well start small, no point dumping all your money into something huge and smoking your equipment because you didn't know what you were doing.

i saied 7.5k because I dont really want my head lights to go really dim when driving. so if my electrical can stand 7.5k then i should be way more then enough for 5k

You will notice head light dimming even with 0.1V of voltage drop. Only way to put an end to head light dimming is HID lights. You don't have to get the blue lights that everyone hates, you can get white, or even the traditional halogen yellow color
