KiKaZz74 Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 Trying to install these new headlights but the corner signals dont match up. The socket on stock is the 4 point like a cross socket. These new ones are only a two point like a minus on the socket. I was thinking of either cutting the two prongs off the stock socket or notching out the headlight. If I didnt work right id end up using plastic cement between the joint to hold it. My other issue is the parking lights I busted the socket on one trying to tighten it but I discovered that they are just loose in there. So I gotta pick up a new one at the junk yard. Or could I just cement it in place also? 95legwagon Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 why dont you splice in the correct socket for the headlamp itself? or do you not have the correct socket? i wouldnt notch anything or cut anything without doing some more research first....... find the correct socket and solder and heatshrink it in. just my .2 i think there real i was looking through that guys stuff he sells and it looks like he finds stuff at auctions and just sells it Yea, it looks like someone got the mids about a month ago....shit. And then what should I do bout the two others? Cement them in once they are on? Ill put fresh amber bulbs in them. I shouldve said that. I planned on just using a dremel though. If you notch it with a dremel or anything remember to vacuum it out good. truthsayer Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 Notch out the socket as mentioned above. No need to start splicing wires and changing connectors unless of a last resort. Using a dremel will only take a few minuets. And you will maintain your stock connector. truthsayer
