Currently right now I have a box with no bracing, its not even double layered. I have two RF T1 15s in a 5.6 cube box power by a RF T10001bd. I am hitting a 146 on the dash legal. My current box size is 16 tall 38 wide 20.75 deep. This setup is in a trunk, so space is an issue. So, to my question: would I get a gain by bracing the new box I plan on building? Okay, before you start yelling at the computer screen... I am asking because of the amount of power that I am running. For example: someone running 20,000 watts would need an ass of bracing vs me running 1500 watts. As I said before, space is an big issue for me, so I don't want to take up to much box volume with bracing that I don't need. The new box i plan on building will have a double face and I was going to do a threaded rod cross brace in the center. Is this enough for me? Do you think I need more? If so, tell me why and what kind of bracing. Also, if there is anyone who testing their setup before and after bracing, what was the result? BTW, new box size is going to be 16 to 16.75 by 21 to 23 by 38. Subs are pointed up ports forward, sub side will be doubled.

What you said should be ample amount of bracing. Another way to brace it is fiberglass the inside. (Do Meade 45's also?)

double baffle and all thread is all ur going to need

i think the rule is if a panel is more than 18" in any direction it should be reinforced

think of it this way, vibration is caused by sound energy/pressure, so if you can eliminated all vibrations in the wood, more of the sound energy/pressure will be in the form of sound/spl and not wasted on flexing the enclosure panels

good #s too

I always make sure I have a 2x4 running inbetween the subs. It stiffens up that panel alot for when those subs are moving. screw it from the top then on the ends. worked really good on by boxes.

I did a cut-through in a S10, "SPL box" and 1 piece of all thread through it was worth 5 DB =] 20K watts causes alot of flex hahahahaha

Yeah sure, but would that be worth it if you put 1500 watts to it. I don't know so...

it still applies, stronger is better.

500 true watts is enough to cause box flex young grasshopper.

Thats funny...

How much resin and fiberglass do I need to 45 the corners?

Do you use resin and glass or just resin?
