audiofanaticz
Right now the ground is in the rear on the trunk floor. has been sanded and everything. IDK what strut towers are so..... lol. Whats wrong with self taping screws btw? before i had the ground on some bolt sanded somewhere same thing idt its a ground issue. Hopefully tomorrow after work ill try to get you those readings. The metal you're grounding to probably isn't very think. Which doesn't help a self tapping screw. This is how thick my truck spare tire area was made out of. All that means is you need to use more self tapping screws!!! 1 self tapper in the center hole of the ring terminal then put a screw on each outter ends of the ring terminal so it doesnt wiggle back and forth!! Swordlordboy1234
Snow has some good info OP. I strongly suggest listening to all he has to say or help with. Dubindodge has an awesome example of why not to ground where you grounded... And self tapping screws are not really a great grounding source. Finally. The strut tower is that thing above the rear or front wheel with 3 or 4 bolts on top of it. It holds the springs and the shocks. Drill out a ring terminal so the hole is big enough. Sand down the area around one of those bolts really good. And ground using that. Swordlordboy1234
OP I understand why you did not want to attempt that but if you have a way to bore out the ring terminal to have a larger sized hole then that's best. The strut tower is one of the best places for rear grounding and I myself saw over a 1.5volt difference in voltage drop switching my ground to mine. Its a bit more work but it's all in the pursuit of doing this hobby correctly sir. Will that mess with the springs or anything taking that bolt off? i have a 2012 car so im very careful when it comes to doing things. its a chrysler at that. should i leave my other ground the way i have it? amps ground to battery then battery ground to strut?
