Awhitewookie
Hey all, I have just about decided to do away with trim panels for sealing my wall and just use expanding foam instead. I have been trying for hours to cut cardboard to mock up panels and I am just too frustrated with it. There are sever curves and its just pissing me off. I am about to tape off my interior panels and headliner, fill with foam, then cut/sand the foam to make it nice and flush with the baffle. Then I am planning on painting everything with bedliner. Will the foam be fine to cover with bedliner? I am wondering if it will just absorb and look porous and terrible, or if it is thick enough it will just look like the baffle and blend nicely. Unless you have an easier/faster way of mocking up panels with cardboard or foam-board because I have gone through a lot of boxes failing. bighossf150
Makr a rough shape of the trim panel with cardboard, doesnt have to be any where near perfect, just make sure its bigger than it needs to be. Use a jasper jig to cut a small circle out of some mdf and drill out the cent of the circle to where its a fairly tight fit on a sharpie but to where the sharpie can still spin in the mdf circle. Now put your roughly shaped cardboard trim panel close to where it needs to be and use the mdf/sharpie to trace the actual shape the trim panel needs to be onto the cardboard then cut it out, test fir then transfer to mdf. I suck at explaining things lol but it really works and is super quick. Or use index cards to work in smaller increments you are making this way harder than it is I have so many of those from never needing them in classes. Thanks! I will give it a shot since I do not own a jasper or router MY BUILD 1998 Ford Explorer 2dr sport 1/0 Big 3 1/0 everything Alpine cda-9884 Crescendo CZ components (2) Crescendo bc2000's (2) Jolt 150ah (2) Yellow top optimas (1) Juicebox black cherry addition (1) Mechman 270 avbm miss my bc5500 and (4) 15's You know why people are ass holes online but not in person?
