SICKSPD
Im mounting two sa-8v2 subs inverted on my box which is only a single baffle .75" thick mdf wood. The face is 31" x 12" but I'm concerned that the weight of the woofers might cause problems and eventually might destroy the box. Do y'all think additional support such as something to put under the magnet might be necessary or could it work fine without additional support? 09 Challenger R/T (Audio system under construction): Pioneer AVH-X4500BT (PAC RP4CH11 harness) (2) Sundown Audio SA-8v2 (inverted) CT Sounds AT1400.1D XS Power D3400 40 sq ft. alaskanzx5
doesn't make a difference if it is inverted or not. still the same amount of weight on the same part of the box. put a something in your hand palm up hand open that weighs about 1lb. now palm down hand open put the same thing on top of your hand. same amount of weight no matter how you hold it. just like an inverted sub, no matter how the baffle holds it its still holding the same weight. I would at least do a small brace between the subs if possible to prevent box flex imo. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz. kirill007
You don't have to be concerned about this for a sa 8. The weight is not high enough. You can always add bracing to the box and baffle for extra rigidity. Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.
