Bump4life Posted January 20, 2014 Report Posted January 20, 2014 Here are 2 coils from "same level" subs that people say have same build house. 3 inch coils. the smaller coil woofer is rated at 1000 rms. and the larger coil is rated at 1200 rms. one cost is 200 and the other cost is around 375 for a brand new woofer. just one part of the woofer that shows you get what you pay for. thought it was interesting to see the difference. edit: to clairfy This is a DD 3500/9500 Copper D2 coil and an American Bass XFL D2 copper coil. Bump4life Posted January 20, 2014 Author Report Posted January 20, 2014 let me guess.... one is AQ/SQ and other is DD. one is DD. but other is not AQ/SQ. another similiar brand. ill be getting a AQ coil soon to look at. but main difference between AQ motors and DD are in the magnet and top plates. gaps are wayy different. Those little coils must have cried when i was tossing 4k to a pair.
