Impalalpine
First off, I want to buy new. Budget of $600. I prefer wood to synthetic furniture. I know next to nothing about optic's too, so any help I can get in that area I desperately need. I want it to fire the .30-06 cartridge. Bolt action. Looking for any reason not to buy a Remington 700 in .30-06 Or the cheaper Remington 770.. Please, any suggestions or input. Airborne
Ruger American is a proven hunter for sure. I dig the 700 but not so much that I would pay more for one. Shit, we had a Mosin Nagant with a bent barrel the other day and I scooped it up for next to nothing. I cut about 10 inches off the end to get rid of the bend and cut the stock (we got it in a crate from Century a few years ago and it was in the back behind some chit). I am taking it to the shop tomorrow to face and crown the barrel and do a little work (thread and make a break) and I'll be into a solid shooter fir less than $100.00. I know it's in no way a Remington 700 but it's going to smack deer etc at a good distance and look cool doing it...

I have heard of those Nagants. they are apparently a pretty unbeatable used rifle for the money. hmm. choices choices Build's consist of: 2004 Chevy Impala : Pioneer--------------------- DEH-X8600bs Soundqubed/AQ------ Q4-120 Rockford Fosgate---- Punch-500.4 Soundqubed/AQ----- Q1-3500D.1 Alpine----------------- 6.5's & 6x9's Subs: TBA All Knukonceptz and SHCA wire and rca's Home Music Setup (4) Soundqubed HDS200 15's in two separate 15.5 cubic foot enclosures tuned to 31 hrz --- XM radio hardwire Updates coming all the time on both builds n8ball2013 "bullshit. Keith77
For my bolt gun Im looking at Western Precision Rifles. Probably going to be a bit pricy but will be worth it. http://westernprecisionrifles.com Thats cool. Im way too old to be upset by shit like that. Your name is winston. Your own parents hated you even before you were born. My penis is bigger than your penis I'm far from loud and my roof/headliner flaps around like Adam's ass on a windy day. I think it depends more on the structure of the vehicle.
ROLEXrifleman
There's AI then there's everything else The Remington 700 and savage 110/112 series are the most used actions in production right now. The 350 engine blocks of the gun world. Ruger makes a solid proven action in the 77 line up but the Anerican series has great reviews. The American series is using the Ruger name to sell on but is proving to be a great rifle in its own right. All the others are a spin of their own or a take off on the 700 platform. Surplus rifles are just that, surplus field grade accuracy rifles. Rolex you sicken me. Just let me finish my pie ~ Juice
Airborne
you can get match grade barrels for a Mosin. You can get damn accurate with a good "surplus' example as well. I have several higher end long range guns but the Mosins are more fun to shoot and it's fun to see the looks on peoples faces when the realize that was once a $99.00 (retail) gun reaching way out...
