01 S-10 Posted January 24, 2014 Report Posted January 24, 2014 Getting ready to run my wires and recently heard that the strut tower was the best ground for unibody cars? Has anyone else tested this. I will also have a run of 1/0 ground front to back. 2007 g6... Thoughts? TDH FTW !!!

Impalalpine Posted January 24, 2014 Report Posted January 24, 2014 If you want to get crazy and do it the really nice/professional/ideal way you can try and find a threaded hole through your actual frame, or drill one. My grounding is done almost entirely by strut towers mounts in the back and they work well also. Why are you running a ground from the front to back? Ground the battery up front, and then send a +12 run back to the trunk. (there is NO real frame) Strut tower ive heard up and down is best under the hood. In the rear.... run a length, and or find a "decent" spot back there or both?? In the back, you can find one for the brake lights thats usually threaded and unpainted (or painted) already. Ground the battery up front, and then send a +12 run back to the trunk. Gonna be running about 7000-7500 watts total so I don't trust the body alone. Also there is no frame, it's a unibody TDH FTW !!!

Damian Anthony Lohrenz Posted January 25, 2014 Report Posted January 25, 2014 My ground was easy easy, Since I took out the back seat in my truck (See Garage) There are bolts where the seats would connect to on the floor is where I put mine. Only about a 2 1/2 foot ground, which is great! anything more than 5 I wouldn't do.
01 S-10 Posted January 25, 2014 Author Report Posted January 25, 2014 That's one thing that's confusing, when I got into audio in the 90's everyone always said keep the ground as short as possible. Nowadays everyone is running grounds front to back I'm probably over thinking this TDH FTW !!!
