I work at an audio shop, and after multiple inquires to sundown, there is hardly any mark up on their products. I can understand the frustration of being told one thing and then another a short time later. But at the end of the day the shop has to make money. Selling those subs to you for 220 a piece before tax probably would have made the shop 40 bucks a woofer. Where as say selling a Rockford t1 for 400 just made the shop 200 bucks. It's all in how companies mark up their product that determines how much a shop can charge.

Any shop that works hard to actually MOVE our product and keeps a fair amount in stock to take advantage of discounted / free shipping will make PLENTY of margin. Not to mention the new 2014 tiered pricing which offers incentives to dealers who are able to sell more volume. Obviously you can't sit one unit on the shelf, have people walk in, point at it and get 100% mark-up.

It just too bad that most of the shops that are willing to do the work, are online...

I own a small shop in a small town and we move Sundown equipment pretty well. But I have no issues matching online MAP prices that Sundown post. Id rather make $20 with a customer and keep him coming back for years rather than make $100 upset him and never see him/her again. There are a few companies out there whose stuff floats around on Evilbay or Amazon that I cannot compete with price wise. Some of that equipment sells for cheaper that I can buy it for myself as a dealer which makes 0 sense to me. But it is what it is. So our biggest box name we carry and push is Sundown. Price wise, quality wise and customer service wise they are our best product. And we carry several "nut hugger" brands.

Thanks! We do our best to strictly enforce MAP so that no dealer ever has to hear that you can buy our stuff for cheaper than dealer cost on e-bay.

I'm glad there's still some Integrity out there. Luckily, I'm not against small shops and if I found one that I could trust I'd be more than happy to "become a sponsor" LOL. I actually just found a small shop here in Cincinnati and he said he's thinking about carrying Sundown. I told him I'd help him put in his first order LOL. If I didn't think it was a GREAT product, I wouldn't have gone through ANY of this.

Internet is kind of the way of the world these days... Companies/shops have to adjust their business models accordingly or they will not be able to compete in the long run. Just ask blockbuster.. Even best buy who closed 1000 brick n mortor stores recently. Even "the big boys" are not immune... It's the entire retail industry...

Glad companies like sundown have taken this into consideration, and offer incentives and a plan for their dealers.. Mark of a great company!
