I can't see that from work, but most of the tinsel issues the SHD had was from people stuffing 100A of current though them. Lol.

I actually burned up 8awg speaker wire and the tinsels weren't even touched. So yeah... the SHD tinsels are fine.

Issues with leads ABOVE rms is very different than subs going up in fire due to tinsel failure if the amp is the culprit. I only know one person I trust who knows his stuff had an SP4 go up in flames, and I would be interested to see what could be learned here.

if high frequency noise is the issue, why dont you guys just slide your speaker cables through a ferrite choke?

They come in tons of sizes and styles...

Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through.
