ROLEXrifleman Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 Well, since no one had an opinion I just ran with what I had. Yup, the housing will be the heat sink from a Power Series Fosgate DSM amp I had. Here's a teaser of what's to come. I'll be including a price and parts list as well. Rolex you sicken me. Just let me finish my pie ~ Juice

audiA6_audio Posted February 6, 2014 Report Posted February 6, 2014 Don't see too many people getting into the banks anymore. Cost of supplies has done nothing but increase. Should be an awesome piece!! Tuned way the hell in!
ROLEXrifleman Posted February 6, 2014 Author Report Posted February 6, 2014 I'm 25% done. Will post update pics when I get a chance tomorrow. I got that heatsink from Freeman's car audio in NC. They had a hand full a few years back and I bought a few for projects like this. They do a lot of RF repair so you would be surprised what cool parts they have. Rolex you sicken me. audiA6_audio Posted February 8, 2014 Report Posted February 8, 2014 any progress man? would love to see what you've come up with!!
ROLEXrifleman Posted February 8, 2014 Author Report Posted February 8, 2014 Been busy at work but have had a chance to work on it. Will get you guys fulls specs of it's capabilities when I get a chance. I started by taking the Plexiglas, which is cut to mimic the original board, and drilling 4 recess tabs and 4 mounting holes. It will attach using the holes that were originally designed to secure the mosfets. If I wanted to i could have used aluminum as my board to help transfer heat to the sink I don't know how hot this thing may get so who knows, I may be redoing it. Doubt it but who knows. After this was done I mocked up the lay out in the heat sink. trust me there's a rhyme and reason to everything, On top of being functional this thing gas to look good! pull the board and did a final mock and started laying down the lines. pull the hardware off the board and finished laying down the lines. Then after 2 hours of drilling and uni bitting later. we have 56 holes ready to go! More to come this weekend!!! BTW, the plexi is hazed over because it still has the protective film on both sides Rolex you sicken me. Just let me finish my pie ~ Juice
