Marquisboys
Oh yeah i mean the mayhem does get low, i like the way sundowns sound also i mean the Zv4 suspension is built pretty well for the lows. Do u know what a good box size and lower tuning would be for around 4k going to it? 2004 Grand MarquisAA Mayhem 18Crescendo 3500d6.5's AQ Pro AudioAQ Super TweetsImage Dynamics 6x9Soundqubed 125.4MB Quart 80.4144.2 db GONZO 2013 Chrysler 300S Granite Crystal Metallic Exterior Inferno Red Interior 5.7 HEMI AWD LMI Air Hammer Intake Corsa exhaust Custom Tune

Amart88
I would put the mayhem in a 5-6 cu box tuned to 33hz for the lows. My 2005 s10 blazer build. 4 zcon 18's walled.
Marquisboys
Ok perfect. yeah its the box that has me going nuts about the sub.. its to cold here to even build one but i know this sub can be alot better in a box made for it.. Idk if i should do a 4th order box or a solid ported one 2004 Grand MarquisAA Mayhem 18Crescendo 3500d6.5's AQ Pro AudioAQ Super TweetsImage Dynamics 6x9Soundqubed 125.4MB Quart 80.4144.2 db GONZO 2013 Chrysler 300S Granite Crystal Metallic Exterior Inferno Red Interior 5.7 HEMI AWD LMI Air Hammer Intake Corsa exhaust Custom Tune
Eroc3k
Agreed! You need a new box my man.
Amart88
What is your box tuned to now? Also, if say, you were runnign 1200 watts, the larger box might have worked better. but with that power I would go smaller. My 2005 s10 blazer build. 4 zcon 18's walled. Miguels
just so you know the big surround on the sundown z.v4 actually takes cone area from the sub. a AA mayhem 18 has more cone area than the sundown z.v4.. i have ran my mayhems on less than rated on a 6 cubic feet per sub and tuned to 34hz and they actually did good on the lows.. some notes would just make my deck bounce up and down.. some bass that you cant hear much but can feel it choking you out...Mayhem are bad ass and get really loud my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
tacomaguy1
Doesn't take away enough cone area to make a difference....and the increased xmax makes up for it Sundown has addressed those assumptions on the forums Team Flex Issues
Miguels
but regardless.. his box is the issue. i would redo before buying a sub edit: to the OP specs of the box.. if the cubes are way off for the power i wouldnt be surprised if the box is tuned to shit with not enough port area my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
