CleanSierra Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 You could fit 20.1 cubes of water in the trunk. You don't have 20.1 cubic feet of useable space for an enclosure. You certainly won't get anywhere near that airspace in a box. Angles, fiberglass, magic, it's just not going to happen. Have you ever built a box in a trunk that was so big, it had to be built mostly in the trunk? It's no fun, you have to get creative. And it's stupid to fire 2 subs up and 2 subs forward, shitty design. It's not being narrow-minded, it's living in the real world where application is different than what's on paper. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
jmanjr82 Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 we need total usable space for this to work.
timc31610 Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 Sell the car and get a van. lol My Build Log 94 Civic http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/188644-94-civic-4-door-build-loq-suggestions-wanted-will-be-super-slow-mo/ Faceebook reluctantly
Hammer Knock Posted February 22, 2014 Author Report Posted February 22, 2014 why stick with 3? do 4 in a blow-through on the 6000d. fiberglass your entire trunk to make it the box. t-bolt your trunk lid down so you dont get water leaking past the gasket into the trunk.. right. i would have to get one more. but one thing about the opti6kd. tuned with the dd1. i had to turn my bass boost up on the opti6k. just for it to sound as loud as the ap3k. and the ap3k had no bass boost at all. if the car doesn't stall, you have enough voltage. XmaximuS Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 I get the impression that you ran the 2 12s already and you want more output. So now you are trying to add an extra sub.. 3 12s isn't really that much louder than 2. I'm suspecting that your enclosure was not optimum for the pair you had running. Can you give some info on your previous box? MY BUILD LOG>>>> NAH I BETTER NOT..
Hammer Knock Posted February 22, 2014 Author Report Posted February 22, 2014 well i have 3 because. one of them, the cone has a rip in it. so i replaced it. but can be repaired. and the box i have is... QBOMB12VL 36 x 22 1/2 x 14 1/2 4.5cu add: i had to had to push it through the back seat and cut some metal to fit it in. if the car doesn't stall, you have enough voltage. XmaximuS Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 right now i have 2 opti1233d running on a ap30001d and was wondering about doing a wall. didnt know if it would be worth doing 3 in a trunk wall or 2. i have 02 grand am Your initial question. I say its not worth it even you had the room for 3 12s instead of 2 with the same power... MY BUILD LOG>>>> NAH I BETTER NOT..
SlamminBeats Posted February 23, 2014 Report Posted February 23, 2014 what trunk can even fit 3 12s firing forward with a port? i want that car. what trunk can even fit 3 12s firing forward with a port? i want that car.Ford Taurus has a 20.1 cubic foot trunk. cubes dont matter, you need the width....3 12 thats 36 in then a propper port for it? thats at least 45 inches left to right. Cubes matter a lot. You need to quit being so narrow minded and think outside the box, take a geometry class or something. Stop limiting yourself and use some angles. Everything doesn't have to be on the same plane. are you being serious? have you ever done 150s from a trunk? no i have and yes cubes matter but in terms of fitting subs on the front baffle you need witdh you fuck tard take geometry? gfy i know more math then your sorry ass. imo 4ths are fails in a trunk so unless your sealed off firing forward then your a fuck nut. again gfy
SlamminBeats Posted February 23, 2014 Report Posted February 23, 2014 OP dont listen to these retards who say you can fit those 3 subs properly. while you can fit a 4th i still doubt you could fit them properly, let alone 4 properly in a 4th. i have always found that firing forward sealed is the loudest for a trunk car. PERIOD
Hammer Knock Posted February 24, 2014 Author Report Posted February 24, 2014 with the box i have. and it not being sealed. i am firing them to the rear now and it is a tad louder. not much but it is louder firing to the back. i think its possibly the box and most deff because its not a sealed trunk. if it was sealed and firing to the rear. well that wouldn't give as much and would be retarded. but. now i have an odd situation. i HAVE to turn the bass boost up on the opti6k for it to hit the subs as hard as the ap3k did. and he ap3k had 0 bass boost. why is this? subs wired to 4 ohm. if the car doesn't stall, you have enough voltage.
