new alt ???

Hi guys i own a 98 mirage i have a directed class d 1500 with 2 powerbass 15 in sealed stock alt (90 amps) 2 batt 1 optima red top front 1 kinetik 1400 trunk with 2 2.0 farad caps am upgrading to the ct sounds 1400 with 2 american bass xfl 1544 my question is which alternator you recomend me i live in PR how much amps ? and which brand am on a tight budget the most i can spent in a new alt is $ 300.00

$300? Ehh.. thats undeniably pushing it.

But like SnowDrifter said.. Singer (my preference), DC, or Mechman.

thank you theres a guy here in PR who distributes mechman at least thats what i heared living in Puerto Rico is a problem because of the outstanding shipping fees i was thinking powermax usa but for what i heard my stock is better than that !!!

Eh, Id pass. Its been shown time and time again that those alts are shit. They're cheap for a reason. Ask Kranny.. LOL

Yup you heard correctly.

I'd also add Excessive amperage into the mix.

If it doesn't come from any of those 4 companies, I wouldn't bother with it. You'd be better off battery banking with the stock alt IMO

I was thinking just in case i dont get the high output here take the red top and put it also in the trunk with the kinetik to have at least 100 ah for those 2 batt and buy a cheap 600 amp interstate acid bat for the front and do the big 3 upgrade until i get the alt ??

You dont want to mix flooded batteries with AGM batteries. One or the other will suffer in the long run. IMO i would just wait until you have the money and do an alternator and or another AGM
