Smurfboy
After a lot of thoughts and researches, I've decided that I am planning to get Four SA-8''s D2 for my truck and I'm very excited about that. With my tax money coming in very soon, I'd like to prepare for everything. For four SA-8s D2, is SAZ-1500Dv3 a perfect match? Reason I asked is because I've noticed that the amp is about 100 watts shorter than all SA8 altogether. I'm assuming it's not a problem? Just wanted to make sure on that. And also, I will definitely need speakers for the doors as well. This is where SA6.5 Component comes in. Thing is I'm unsure which Sundown amp is good for one set of Component. My guess is SAX-150.2 amp. So to recap everything: Four SA-8 D2 One SAZ-1500Dv3 Amplifier One set of SA6.5 Component One SAX-150.2 amplifier This is for daily driver and I listen to Rap/low bass. Thanks for your time. Looking forward to do something new with stereo system this year! Edited March 18, 2014 by Smurfboy
TRTC360
i'd get two 1500's for 4 sa-8s. Their power ratings are a damn joke. I had my DC 3.5k at 2ohm on my single SA-8v2 with one coil unhooked for a couple months without issues. And I wasn't exactly gentle on the gains. hdorre
Those SA8s can definitely handle more power. I had a pair on a Rockford T1500-1bdCP. Not mandatory though obviously.. just letting you know that they wont be pushed much. If you want one set of those mids and a Sundown amp, the only real choice is the 150.2.. I would turn the gain WAY down though! dog24fret
I know with 500 continuous clean watts going into mom's sa8. They can absolutely take more without a doubt as long as the box is good and the power is clean. Smurfboy
Thanks for the replies. At the moment, I rather follow Subwoofer's rate (400 watts per subs) because if I do give more power, then that means I will have to upgrade alt and battery(ies). I cannot promise myself to get ALT and battery anytime soon, although I can see myself doing that in the near future! For now, though, I can do one SAZ-1500. TRTC360
if you're limited on power just build the box on the larger side. hdorre
Yea, bigger boxes are generally more efficient. alaskanzx5
Go for it. After its all done and installed start saving for a good alt and upgraded stock batt. Once you get the electrical up get a second amp for them and give them hell. its a great starting point just upgrade from there.
