ParDeus
Ok, so I have 4ga ofc, alt does 122 at idle, 147 at 2000rpm. Battery is a G34 Deka. So I'm tearing my car apart to trade in to the dealership today, and I find that my main fuse is 40a! I thought it was a 100a! I've had a MB Quartz 1500.1 at .5ohm, a Mmats d300hc at 2ohm, and a Mmats 3000.05 at 1ohm, all on this exact electrical. With 2 12's in a trunk fence (lol) I metered in the mid 140's. So 500w at most? Gain set with scope and DD1 at -5db. Deck is an Kenwood x995. WHAT. THE. FUCK. Explanations anyone? Thanks

Bship
Bad fuse? Or you just aren't drawing many amps? seems a bit odd to me as well. maybe somebody will chime in with a more intelligent answer. ParDeus
Ehh, either the fuse is crap (I doubt) or my buddy's TermLab is junk. There is no fucking way it would score like that on such low power. It was a shit box with mad air leaks. Other people thought it was loud, I however, was deeply unimpressed. It was not an anl fuse, but a shitty agm glass tube fuse. I guess it might lend a little credence to how efficient a Mmats amp is, but God, they're not physics defying efficient. Wicks
Fuses are thermal not electrical like a circuit breaker. A 40A fuse isn't going to blow at 41A, it will continue to conduct, you'll just get a bit more voltage drop, the higher the current. Up until the fuse gets too hot and melts. Fuses are more for sudden large surges of current, like a hard short circuit to ground. My guess is that you had higher voltage drop across the fuse, but enough for everything to function..........and I bet that thing was HOTTT Any heat damage around the fuse holder or anything? I have the same thing going on.I run a brz2400 at 1 ohm should pull over 200 amps, I have a 100 amp fuse on the power line and it won't pop. I haven't had my setup on the meter but I have been told my setup has to be high 40s. Its kinda crazy I don't drop past 13.3-13.5 full tilt also.... I also have 4ga wire, stock alt is 150 amp and my battery is stock 60 something AH. 01 focus se 110 amp alt Big 3 sky high and stinger hpm ofc 1/0 Super start platinum AGM (starting) 2 runs of 1/0 Execution audio front to back Kenwood double DIN DDx271 A pillars- orion 4" super tweeter and 2-1" alpines.
